Lily River Foods Cooking made simple

I want to introduce to you a new breading from Lily river foods. The breading is called Grandma's Homestyle breading and Liliy River breading. I had a chance to try some on a fresh walleye catch and fell in love. The key to the breading is to keep it light. If your local store doesn't have it ask for it, you will be very happy you did..

Fall returns

Days are getting shorter and nights cooler. This can only mean one thing for a river angler HOT FISHING!!. As the water temps start to drop the fish really put the feed bag on gearing up for the long winter months. Are early goose season has been very good with a very nice local bird population. Sounds like we are in store for another great duck season even tho we cant shoot cans.

Last hatch

The second May fly hatch is just about over. Things are on the slower side but can still find some active fish. Down sizing has been the key. 1/8 oz or 1/16 with a twister tail depending on the area and plan on moving around. Stll having some good action on the regular stuff in the early am or late pm but going smaller as the sun gets higher. A few days and things should be all good. Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the people who I have been out with in the last few months. Its been great to meet you and I hope to bend a rod again with you very soon. GO BREWERS!!!!!

Mid July on The MIss

Well its Mid July and things are wonderfull on the Mississippi and surrounding areas. Had some rain a few days ago and about a week ago we had very large Mayfly hatch. This seemed to slow some of the fishing for just a few days but now its all good. Crappies are bitting on jigs in current. The walleyes are still hitting on cranks. Bass in the slop and on wing damns. Blue gills in the current and on snags and rocks. Model A Bombers and Cotten cordell walleye divers for walleye. Mr. Twister tails for crappie and blue gills and scum frogs for the bass..
