End of August Bite..

The River has started to get back to normal levels and the backwaters are cleaned up very nice. The main channel on 8 is still dirty but should be better in a few days. The fishing has been really good for bass and blue gills. The pike seem to be running small. Have not been doing much for walleye fishing but plan to hit them hard this week..

It can stop raining anytime now..

With all the rain it has made for really high water and record river flow. And to top things off it seem like the May flies just dont want to go away. But like they say good things come to those who wait. Mother nature has turned off the water show in are area and the river has started to go down. The May flies are done and the fish have started to bite. This week has been the best bite we have had in a long time. Everything seems to be on the chew. The best has been the gills. Used up 2 dozen crawlers yesterday in 3 hours. Yummy!!! As long as the rain holds off for a few days the next couple of weeks will be awsome

Really high water for June!!

Mother nature is not being very nice. Rain rain and more rain has made for very high dirty weedy water. I am seeing that we might hit over 10 fow and that would shut down the river to no wake in alot of areas..BOOOOOO!!! The key with these conditions is to find clean water and even that isnt a sure thing. Cant wait for the water to go down becuase it should be really good when it does..

Full moon May..

Finaly the warm weather we have been needing to get things going strong. Blue gills are under heavy spawn. Largemouth are almost ready to spawn and some are doing it. With the blue gill spawning the Pike are going nuts. Crappie are in the shallows spawning. Walleye that were really tough to find a few weeks ago are now once again eating good. With all these choices what should I fish for today??? Thats easy all of them..Good luck !!!
